Subcontracting & skilled-trade support for residential and commercial construction

Two multi-story buildings wrapped in scaffolding during construction

Project capabilities

Equipped for projects of different scopes and scales.

The project types below describe the work Northwest Field Services is structured to support, and the kind of trade support we provide on each.

Project types

What we support

Photography on this page illustrates each type of project and is not a depiction of specific Northwest Field Services projects or clients.

Residential Developments

ScaleIndividual homes to multi-phase communities

Trade support for home builders working across lots, plans and phases, where consistency from one home to the next matters as much as speed.

How we support it

  • Electrical and plumbing rough-in and trim
  • Crews scheduled to builder phase releases
  • Repeatable scopes by plan type
  • Punch and closeout support
Two multifamily buildings under construction Project type 02

Multifamily Construction

ScaleSingle buildings to multi-building sites

Apartment, townhome and mixed-use projects with repetitive units and vertically stacked systems that reward disciplined, floor-by-floor execution.

How we support it

  • Unit and floor sequencing
  • Stacked plumbing and electrical risers
  • Coordination with framing and drywall
  • Crew scaling as buildings come online
Mechanical equipment and piping in a commercial building Project type 03

Commercial Buildouts

ScaleTenant spaces to full commercial buildings

Buildouts and tenant improvements where MEP trades must work around tight schedules, other trades and sometimes occupied adjacent spaces.

How we support it

  • Electrical distribution, lighting and devices
  • Plumbing rough-in and fixtures
  • Coordination with mechanical and finish trades
  • After-hours or phased work when required
Rooftop solar installation in progress Project type 04

Solar Projects

ScaleResidential rooftops to commercial arrays

Installation and electrical integration support for solar projects, with work-at-height planning built in from the start.

How we support it

  • Racking and module installation
  • Electrical integration by appropriately licensed personnel
  • Material staging and site logistics
  • Coordination with inspections and interconnection
New construction with scaffolding along the facade Project type 05

New Construction

ScaleGround-up projects of varying size

Ground-up work that moves from underground and rough-in to finish, with each phase planned around the trades and inspections that follow.

How we support it

  • Underground and rough-in phases
  • Inspection readiness
  • Trim and finish phases
  • Phase-by-phase crew planning
Interior renovation with exposed framing Project type 06

Renovation & Retrofit

ScaleSingle spaces to building-wide upgrades

Upgrades and modifications to existing buildings, where field conditions often differ from drawings and the work must be carefully planned.

How we support it

  • Existing-condition walkthroughs
  • Demolition coordination for trade work
  • Electrical and plumbing upgrades
  • Protection of occupied and finished areas
Multiple tower cranes over a large construction program Project type 07

Large Construction Programs

ScaleMulti-site and multi-phase programs

Programs that span multiple buildings, phases or locations and need consistent trade support and coordination over an extended period.

How we support it

  • Workforce planning across phases
  • Consistent standards between sites
  • Clear reporting lines and communication
  • Scalable crew deployment

Delivery

The same process on every project

Whatever the scale, each engagement moves through the same six stages.

  1. 01

    Scope Review

We review drawings, specifications, schedule and site conditions with you to confirm the scope, trade requirements and any jurisdiction-specific licensing or permitting needs.

  2. 02

    Planning & Coordination

Crew composition, sequencing, materials responsibilities and points of contact are agreed in advance and aligned with the project schedule.

  3. 03

    Mobilization

Personnel complete site orientation and project-specific safety requirements, and access, tools and staging are arranged before work starts.

  4. 04

    Field Execution

Work is carried out to the plans and applicable codes, with regular communication with the superintendent on progress, conditions and constraints.

  5. 05

    Quality Review

Completed work is checked against the scope, coordinated with required inspections, and corrected promptly where adjustments are needed.

  6. 06

    Project Closeout

Punch items are resolved, the work area is left in order and closeout information is handed over so the next phase can proceed.
